How to change Dell MediaDirect button to run another program
1- Open REGEDIT by typing REGEDIT to RUN command. (Back up your regedit first, if you need)
Find the following keys in REGEDIT:
HKey_Local_Machine\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MobilePC\HotStartButtons\0
HKey_Local_Machine\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\MobilePC\HotStartButtons\0
HKey_Local_Machine\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\MobilePC\HotStartButtons\0
HKey_Local_Machine\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Control\MobilePC\HotStartButtons\0
Note: If you can not see ControlSet003, it is ok! Go ahead!
2- Then all you need to do is change the Application Path:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\MediaDirect\MDirect.exe”
To your program path, for example here I change it to my iTunes path:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe”
Close REGEDIT and restart or Log Off your computer to take effect.
